Car history: |
06/02/2014 Car is in excellent shape mechanically and cosmetically, but there is a small chip on the driver's side front fender. The chip is shown in one of the photos. Door jambs were not repainted, but match. No road rash on front of car. The car starts, runs, and drives great. It dyno'd with 371 rwhp. Interior is in very good to excellent condition, with only very slight wear on some of the leather seams. No tears, but some fading of the leather in a few seams. You really need to look closely to notice. Transmission shifts smooth, but reverse isn't synchronized, so it will grind if you shift to reverse while rolling. If you go 5th to reverse, all is smooth. No grinds or clutch slip while driving, shifts are very direct and short. Overdrive trans is great for quieter highway cruising. Steering and suspension is very tight, especially for a C3. Fresh steering box and bushings. No leaks, ticks, stalling, or lack of power at any point in RPM band. Rev limiter set at 6000. Popup lights work.
2 sets of T-tops (body color and clear window type) Vehicle is in excellent condition cosmetically and mechanically This vehicle has had a lot of work done to it over the years Rebuilt engine with high performance parts Lumpy comp cam (cam card in picture) KB pistons, aluminum heads, port matched aluminum intake, Holley double pump carb, MSD ignition, high flow electric thermostatically actuated fan Rebuilt A/C system (blows very cold!) TKO 600 5 speed overdrive transmission from Classic Chevy 5 speed: http://www.hurst-drivelines.com/?page_id=120 Fresh silver paint (shiny, no orange peel) and new fiberglass (not flexible urethane) bumpers in 2011. Bilstein shocks and TRW monoleaf spring in rear New disc brake calipers, pads, and rotors in 2013 as well as new control arm bushings New steering box in 2012, and alignment. Tracks straight, no pulling, tight steering
This is a well loved Corvette with a history of owners who have not spared any expenses in maintenance or upgrades. This is not a stock 180hp 1975 Corvette. The engine has been built, and with 371 horsepower to the rear wheels, it really moves. The transmission was also upgraded to a more modern 5 speed unit with an overdrive 5th gear. This transmission, with 3.55 gears in the posi rear, make driving on the highway both quiet and comfortable. At 70 mph, you are only doing 2200 RPM or so. A/C has been converted to R134a and blows cold. The upgraded radiator and electric fan keep the car cool, it never runs hot and never overheats, even in prolonged traffic idling on the hottest summer days. |
